Windows 10: I have hp laptop and the mouse pad not working error code 24... tried to uninstall the...

Laptop model no. HP laptop 15g-br0xx.Suddenly mouse pad stopped working. Tried all the things unistalled the driver rebooted the system disabled the device... but when I was checking the event for mouse somewhere I saw device not started, don't understand what does that mean.Plz help

Touch pad not working. I have tried everything.

I have a semi new Lenovo laptop ThinkPad T450s with a new hard drive. After installing Windows 10 the touch pad doesn't work. It did however work before. I have spent all day trying to read up on how I may solve this to no avail. Therefore I am writing my own help request. Here is a list of things I have tried;


Not Fn + F5
tried updating drives
not in device manager
not in control panel - mouse properties doesn't give me touch pad option (picture 2) nor is it anywhere in the control panel under deivices to be found
Activated in BIOS
I tried taking some steps I read online in the Registration Entries but files seemed to be missing (perhaps here is the problem) but only ended up making my USB mouse to stop working so that didn't do the trick.
Synaptic pointing device is under View and show hidden devices.
Not sure what to do about the yellow exclamation mark but it says error "This device is not present, is not working properly or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)"

Error codes in Device Manager in Windows for more information about the error.

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

1. Are you able to use the touchpad of the laptop?
2. Are you facing this issue with any other devices or only with the mouse?
3. What is the make and model of your laptop and the mouse?

Try using the same mouse on a different laptop/desktop and check if you are facing the same issue. If you are facing the same issue with another laptop/desktop, then the issue is with the mouse itself.

If you are not facing any issues when using the mouse on a different laptop/desktop, then try plugging in the mouse to another USB port on your laptop because sometimes the USB port might be causing the issue.

If you are still facing the same issue, then go to Device Manager while the mouse is plugged in and uninstall all the drivers related to the mouse > Unplug the mouse from the laptop > Restart the laptop once and then plug in the mouse to
the laptop and check if you are able to use the mouse.

Give it a shot and let us know of any changes.

 

Synaptics click pad not working (error code 24)

On device manager, my synaptics clickpad says "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)".

I tried uninstalling, reinstall driver on manufacturer website, mouse settings but nothing seems to be working after uninstalling, reinstalling and resetting my laptop

my external mouse works fine
