Windows 10: I have just changed to Windows 11. How do I sort scanned photos into date originally taken?

I have about 200 old family photos that I have scanned into my laptop. When I was using Windows 10 I could easily change headings and date taken... I cannot find those facilities now and obviously they are vital. I am not technically minded either, so cannot understand a complicated remedy....

Windows 11 Photos App will not sort by Date Taken.

I purchased PC with Windows 11 April 2022. When photos transferred from W10 they were organized by Date Taken which is what I have preferred for many years. When the automatic upgrade occured in Oct 2022 ALL of my photos are unorganized. Even if I click on option to sort by Date Taken they continue to be unorganized. I have checked that Date Taken is correct on most of the photos themselves. Under Dec-Jan 2022 uploads even my most recent uploaded photos are out of order and mixed in with those from 2015, 2017, 2020 etc. I use ICloud. On the nav bar on the left I have options of All Photos which number 18,481 and ICloud Photos which number 7987 photos which is pretty close to the correct number transferred from W10 and on my iphone. All photos include many many dups. Dates are out of order on each of these options. Again, Date Taken is mostly accurate on all original photos. I tried Photos Legacy but photos uploaded in same wrong order using Date Taken Can I delete all photos from W11 and reload from W10 photos (I have that PC) or from my iphone? Any other suggestions please. Thank you.

 

Sorting photos by date in Windows 11

PLease can you explain how to sort photos by date taken when importing from an iPhone into WIndows 11? THis used to be very easy in Windows 10 but WIndows 11 doesnt seem to sort them by date. Thank you
