    I don't have windows and it looked so very corny, so I shut my computer down and back on and it was still there, so switched again and waited and it had gone when I switched it on for the second time.

    I have read this is a scam and assume with switching my computer off there should be no issues but do I need to take any other steps?

    Threatened by Woman's Voice

    I experienced what appeared to be some kind of virus attack. Some kind of pop-up from Microsoft Edge session displayed on my screen (from some very long URL), and when I tried to close it, a woman's voice said my information was being sent to another computer
    and threatened to contact the authorities about breaking some law, if I shutdown my computer. I ignored the direction, used Task Manager to close the Microsoft Edge task, and then proceeded to run Microsoft Defender (Advanced Scan). After 10 minutes and
    Defender performing an automatic reboot, I checked for any detected viruses, but nothing was reported.

    I did notice the C:\Windows\Microsoft Antimalware directory is dated in the future, 6/18/2018 12:11AM, when my computer's clock says 6/17/2018 9:01PM. Is that normal, for this directory to be dated in the future?

    Can Microsoft suggest anything else I can do to check for evidence of residual virus on my PC?
