Windows 10: I have local media files with multiple audio channels, windows media player shows no audio...

I have a Lenovo Yoga Slim 6i and i have local media files with 7.1 channel audio, windows media player and films and tv app plays the audio as mute, i did not face the same problem with 2.1 or 5.1 audio channels, i have reinstalled both the apps and it still doesnt output any sound, other media players like vlc and plex work absolutely fine, pls help

Media Player Audio??

While i try to play a DVD movie on my computer with Windows Media Player i get no Audio out of it. What do i need so i can have audio??

 

Windows Media Player not showing extra audio tracks

In the default window media player, you can change the audio language but not the audio playback channel.

In VLC, while playing the video, right click on the video, under audio -> stereo mode, select the channel you want to project.

It's not avaliable in windows Media Player - or rather I have yet to find that setting.
