Windows 10: I have lost my bit locker key. And I do not see any way to recover it. What should I do?

I do not have my bit locker key, maybe it was saved in someone else’s account, who first setup the laptop . And I have no idea, who or where that person is. I guess, I’m going to have to factory reset it. But, even if I factory reset it, how would I get my bit locker key? What should I do?

Bit locker won’t except any of the keys from my Microsoft account. What’s the next step to get it unlocked?

We purchased a Dell Inspiron 3583 computer for my nephew a little more than 3 years ago. His computer does not recognize the power cable and will not charge the battery, though it does run. He asked me to fix it. In doing so, I ran popular anti-virus software which located several viruses (not related to the power cable problem) and needed a reboot to remove them. Upon rebooting, Windows will no longer start.

My problem is that I have no choice than to restore Windows but to do so I need the bit locker recovery key. I was told by Dell that the key could be located on the Microsoft account associated with the computer. I logged into the Microsoft account and everything looks in order, however, when I click the manage recovery keys link I get taken to a page that says there's nothing to show you here.

Is there any hope of recovering the bit locker key? I do not have he Windows key either. Ill take either one of these keys but I can't boot the computer to get the Windows key. I'm happy to reinstall Windows, but I don't want to pay for a new copy of Windows when the computer has a legitimate copy and it's not our fault that the bit locker key is not accessible.

Any guidance would. be appreciated.
