Windows 10: I have MS KeyBoard Creator 1.4

It doesn't work with Windows 10 Pro. How can I remap keys on a Win 10-Pro keyboard? Topic may be incorrect.

MS Keyboard Layout Creator

1. What is the version of Windows that you are using?

Based on my search, I see that the Microsoft Keyboard Layout creator is applicable for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 1, and Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Here is the
system requirements information for Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4

Follow the below steps, and try to install the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.

1. Press 'Windows key + R' to open 'Run Command'.

2. Type 'appwiz.cpl' without quotes, and press enter.

3. In the 'Programs and features' window, click on 'Turn Windows features on or off'.

4. Enable '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)' option.

5. Click on 'OK'.

Follow the on-screen prompts, and restart the system if required. This will install the .NET Framework feature. Try to install the MS Keyboard Layout Creator, and check.

keyboard is not working on Windows 10.

I have done all suggested steps and additionally was on the phone with Microsoft support for 2 (yes TWO) hours after a 4 (YES FOUR) hour call-back wait, and support could not fix the issues that were the result of an MS 10 update. The MS SUPPORT PERSON, AFTER
2 HOURS, TRIED TO TRANSFER ME TO SOMEONE WITH MORE EXPERIENCE WITH ON-SCREEN KEYBOARDS UNDER MS 10, BUT WE WERE DISCONNECTED. I am now waiting another 4-5 hours for ANOTHER call-back. EVen 2 restores did not work.

In some cases, outdated, missing, broken or incompatible input device drivers can cause the issue that you're encountering. Aside from updating the keyboard driver on your Windows 10 Creators Update PC, you may also try some of the troubleshooting below:

Method 1 - Disable the Windows Fast Startup

Some users have reported that they had their keyboard back to life by unchecking the fast startup option in Windows 10 Creators Update/Fall Creators Update.

Step 1. Use Windows shortcut keys Win + X to launch the Jump List.

Step 2. Select the Power Options.

Step 3. Scroll down to the Additional power settings.

Step 4. On the left side, click the Choose what the power buttons do.

Step 5. Click Change settings that currently unavailable to active the Shutdown settings below.

Step 6. Untick the Turn on fast startup option.

Step 7. Click Save changes.

Now restart the computer to see if the “keyboard not working” issue has been resolved.
