Windows 10: I have my new laptop with windows 11, and during the first setup i set the slovak keyboard...

every time i have to change it to eng , by default it is set to slovak..

BUG with keyboard shortcut for SLOVAK QWERTY

Hi, thank you for reply and your concern. I do not need any help as I am an experience Windows user, indeed. I had tried for 2 years all suggested settings/actions which could be found at different web sites about problems with shortcuts for keyboard language. But THIS IS A WINDOWS BUG for SLOVAK QWERTY keyboard only, I am pretty sure as all other keyboards works (I work also with English and German language/keyboards) very well with shortcuts, also SLOVAK QWERTZ works perfect. The only one which has NEVER been working after some upgrade 2-3 years ago is SLOVAK QWERTY. So I do not need to try some settings - I was hoping this is a site for filling a bug in windows and some Microsoft people can answer. If you want to check it, try to install SLOVAK language and SLOVAK QWERTY keyboard in windows (it is not default, default for SLOVAK language pack is SLOVAK QWERTZ keyboard which is working as I have mentioned) in your WIN OS and check if the keyboard shortcut for it works beside other shortcuts to other languages. I am pretty sure it will not, as I have 3 different WIN10 machines and it is not working anywhere.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue!

I am Bhavik, an Independent Advisor. Please note, I am not a Microsoft employee and don’t have direct access to your account, but I will do everything I can to help you with your queries.

It should work, please try to delete the existing keyboards and re-add it.

Follow these steps:

1. Press Windows + I keys together, it will open Windows Settings

2. Click on Time & Language option

3. Then click on Language from the left side menu

4. You should be able to see all the language keyboard added on the right side of the screen

5. Click on Slovak keyboard, press Remove

6. Then click on Add a preferred language button on the same page and add Slovak language keyboard again and see if that solves the issue

Unable to assign keyboard shortcut to a specific (Slovak QWERTY) keyboard

In the Language Bar Options tab of Advanced Key Settings I have four actions:

Between input languages -> Left Alt+Shift

To English (United States) - US -> Left Alt+Shift+1

To Russian (Russia) - Russian -> Left Alt+Shift+3

To Slovak (Slovakia) - Slovak (QWERTY) -> Left Alt+Shift+2

The switching (AltShift) works without problems for all languages/keyboards. As well the english and russian keyboards work fine. But the slovak keyboard switching (Left Alt+Shitf+2) doesn't work, indefferently of the shortcut I assign to it... I tried Left
Alt+Shift+4.... and so on, but it just wouldn't work.

Later, when I added a German keyboard and assigned it a shortcut, it worked as well. The only keyboard that wouldn't work with shortcut is the Slovak (QWERTY) keyboard. So is this a windows bug or am I doing something wrong here?
