Windows 10: I have problems with some games after the last Windows update

I don't know why, but the last update really messed up my PC. Not only did I have to reset my computer because the update hadn't installed correctly and my desktop simply wouldn't boot, but now I have problems with the games too! I tried reinstalling them many times, even use the System File Checker tool, but nothing seems to work. What is worse, my laptop has the same problem, so it's not a harware problem.


1. One game simply won't launch. The game was already a bit problematic before the update, but that happened because one of the .ini files was checked as "read only". Now I applied the same procedure, but the game won't work. I also reinstalled it many times, run in compatibility mode, add as an exception for the antivirus, run as admin... Nothing!


2. Another game won't recognise my savefile. The problem seems to be the region. But I never changed the region. I use the same region as before, but the game can't use them.


I bet there are many other problems I haven't encountered yet, but this is just very frustrating!

• Is the issue particular to that game or other games also?

This issue could occur if the your playing a game at a different resolution than the desktop resolution.

Step 1: I suggest you to check the resolution of the game as well as the resolution with in the computer and see if you are able to play the games in full screen.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode from Manufacturer's website, if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the
  Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.
