I have purchased a new computer for my daughter. I would like this computer and her to be part of the family safety configuration. when I do the initial setup of the computer, and am asked to log into a microsoft account, should that be my "parent microsoft account" or my daughter's "microsoft account", in order to set the device up properly?

Ransomware Daughters Computer

Daughters computer has some kind of Ransomware virus on it.
It has set the computers clock back, if you try to navigate to any website
a fake Windows Defender web page appears. There is a "Microsoft"
phone number and an audio suggestion you call the number.

It is on my home network as a wireless desktop but I am not sharing it
with any device. As soon as we discovered we powered it off.

So, my question is, where to begin trying to do a fix?
She is running windows 7 home premium.
Its an old Dell Vostro model.

Restored my daughter's computer to factory settings and it stuck on the "Hi there" screen

Hello, recently my daughter left for college and the computer she used in High School was replaced with another computer. My daughter's laptop was purchased in 2016, and I want to make it my personal computer. However, when I began a system restore to the
original configuration, the computer gets stuck and recycle to the "Hi there" screen of the installation process. I will enter the information requested, ie... time zone, then the screen changes to "just a moment" restarts, and return to the "Hi there screen.
I have been told that I will need a copy of Windows 10 on the thumb drive to correct this issue.

Any suggestions?

If not how can I get an official copy of Windows 10 since I had an official copy when I purchased the computer?

Computer Linkage for Microsoft Account

Thanks for the reply Brian. It is the opposite. The stepdaughter's new computer shows my daughter's account info (step's old computer) when she logs in. Can't my daughter simply unlink to the newer computer of my step D?
