I have pushed a desktop background image through a AD group policy. In some PCs the background image is not reflected, even though AD GPO has been applied to that PC. What may be the reason?

  2. Multiple Desktops - Can't set a different desktop background image uniquely for each Desktop

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

If you're using a business computer, it's possible that there are policies in place that prevent you from setting different backgrounds for each virtual desktop. These policies are often managed by the IT department to ensure security and uniformity across all business machines.

Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Contact Your IT Department:
      • Explain the issue to your IT department and ask if there are any policies or restrictions that might be preventing you from setting different backgrounds for each desktop.
      • They might be able to adjust the settings or provide a workaround specific to your organization's setup.
    2. Check Group Policies:
      • If you have administrative privileges, you can check the Group Policy settings to see if there are any restrictions related to desktop backgrounds.
      • Open the Group Policy Editor by typing gpedit.msc in the Run dialog (Windows + R).
      • Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop > Desktop and check for any policies related to background settings.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, your IT department will be the best resource for further assistance, as they can directly access and modify the settings on your business computer.

    Lost desktop background

I did a Search & Distroy spyware scan the other day, and one of the suggested "fixes" said something about removing Active Desktop. Like the muppet I am I clicked yes and am now without a desktop background picture.

Does anyone have an idea how to reverse this? If I try to select a picture it's simply not added as a background.
