    I have REALLY struggled to get rid of the McAfee download which has caused me so many problems. Do I have to have to re-install my entire system to get rid!?

    Getting rid of McAfee from the computer

    Not to suggest you take any action as a result of the commands below because you can really mess things up, but I'm curious what output you get when you execute these commands from a command prompt after you have completely uninstalled McAfee:

    cd\
    dir *mcafee*.* /s

    Mcafee causing win 10 upgrade to stop.

    Third-party AVs can be notoriously difficult to remove. That's why each one provides a custom removal tool....

    As always, there seems to be lots of alleged fixes out there, which may work on versions earlier than Win 10... but not with Win 10. The struggle for getting rid of this now un-needed bloat seems to be wrapped up in file permissions. But even when I try to clobber it with administrative authority, it won't budge. One fix suggests that you can use disk cleanup to get rid of it by selecting previous installation files. Heh. Yeah. Just TRY and find that option in Win 10.

    Ok. Somebody hopefully has managed to resolve this inigma. Step by step, please. I have REALLY struggled to get rid of the McAfee download which has caused me so many... :)
