  2. Drive/Disk not migrated - Windows 10.

Hi, I have just cloned my original adata m.2 500Gb drive to a similar 1Tb drive.

It is booting up, although I am receiving an opening message saying "no media present".

This will time out quickly, then I land on my desktop,

All info is present in file explorer and disk manager.

The drive has labelled itself as Drive 1.

The secondary drive is Drive 0. (this is for personal files, data, etc).

So, could this be that the new drive is NOT MIGRATED? as stated in the properties option for the drive within Disk Management window.

If so, how can I migrate the drive. I have checked my secondary drive and it is migrated.

    thanks.

    Phil.

  3. Disk bloat in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Is it my imagination, or does the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update consume an additional 20-30GB of disk space over the previous Creators Update release? Unfortunately, I didn't log my disk usage before the upgrade, but now my C: drive has 56GB of stuff, and I know it wasn't anywhere near that full before. I've run "Disk Cleanup -> Clean up system files" and selected everything on the list, including remove previous version of Windows. I also emptied my Recycle Bin, my Temp folder, \Windows\Temp folder, and \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder. Finally, I ran Wise Disk Cleaner to delete assorted application garbage.

Has anyone else noticed the bloat in Fall Creators Update?

    Drive/Disk not migrated - Windows 10.

Hi, I cloned from the original m.2 whilst in the pc to an external m.2 in an enclosure.

The data size was appx 325gb of used space on original drive.

The new m.2 was straight out of the box and straight into the enclosure.

I did not create an image so had no rescue disk.

Then I removed the old m.2 and replaced it with the new one, in the same socket.

There was no initial boot. Black screen with "insert boot drive/disk...etc..."

I went into the bios and found my adata drive listed by name, I checked it was boot option 1 and tried again.

    No boot.

Then in the bios I found a button/option called something like "load default settings" gave it a click and it booted, slowly.

It now boots, but rather slow for an NVME drive with speeds up to 35000, which I tested with crystal disk mark and hit 32000.

I am still getting this odd "no media found" message on bootup, but after the time out period of about 1min it boots to desktop.

I cannot vouch for the original drive being 'migrated' or not, but the new one is
not migrated, and I have just noticed further info in properties stating "present - false".
