Hello, As I highlighted I have replaced my laptop screen just recently as it broke due to the right hinge. We replaced it with the original screen but now I don't have the option to make it 1920x1080 as it was before. It says 1366x768Recommended and nothing more. Is this because the screen was the original part for this device or a lower one, or is this something software related? I'd appreciate any help...My laptop is ASUS ROG GL553 with stats:-i7-7700HQ-16GB RAM-1050ti-HD Graphics 630-Win 10

Looking for help with laptop screen

It's quite easy to replace a screen, try to find a disassembly guide for the specific model of laptop so you have a step by step indication of where to take screws out and what clips to unclip. There might be some youtube videos as well. Always make sure the replacement screen is compatible as there can be different connectors.

 

Laptop with broken screen How much?

I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd

 

Laptop replacement screen issue

Hi. My friend dropped his laptop and cracked the screen so I ordered him a replacement screen. I've replaced many laptop screens without a single issue until now. I'm starting to think I possibly received the wrong replacement screen for his laptop and wanted to check with you guys and get some input. The video screen cable (part number DC020012110) doesn't want to lock into the video connector on the replacement screen like it does on the broken screen. Then I looked and I noticed a difference with the broken screen and the replacement screen I ordered. The broken one is absent a chip (not sure what to call it) that the replacement screen has. I took some pictures which you can see below showing the difference between these two screens. Is this the issue why I get light, but no picture with the replacement screen and why the cable doesn't like to fit the video connector as easy as it did on the broken screen? The video cable hooks up to the broken screens video connector with no issues and I get a picture except of course the screen is so cracked it's unusable. When I try to hook up this replacement screen I get white light and that's it. Like I said I'm thinking I was sent a wrong screen perhaps? Below are the pictures and hopefully by looking at them you can see the difference between them and understand what I'm saying. I have also included information on the make and model of the laptop and also information I got from the back of the broken screen. I want to note that the broken screen says "LTN160AT06-U01" and the replacement just says "LTN160AT06" despite this description listing it as U01...
