Windows 10: I have the below threat and I can't remove it, help me please.

PUA:WIN32/VIGUA.ASee photo below please for more information.It will not allow me to block, quarantine, or remove thru normal means using Microsoft DefenderI proceeded to access the scans folder in Microsoft Defender.I made it past the administrator issue, entered the folder using NOTEPAD and selected the folder and access as adminitrator.I went to History, Scans, and Service and found the folder.It will not allow me to delete the files in the scans folder.It says I must get permission from the "system" but I am the administrator.So I ventured forth to the ownership page on my pc.I even went

WINDOWS DEFENDER IS NOT REMOVING THREATS

This one works. You're correct I chose removed but it just doesn't remove the threats it says working and after working the threats are still listed. I ran the safety scanner, reboot, scan in safe mode, scan in clean boot but neither of those works to remove
the listed threats.

Just as I thought all I need is to manually delete the file where it contains the threats list just like a log file.

Threats detected by Windows Defender

If you really want to be sure if those threats are removed completely then I would suggest to clean install Windows. That’s the only way to know for sure. And always disconnect from the internet next time you encounter malware. That’s the first step to take, especially if you have more than one computer sharing the same network.

 

How do I remove quarantined threats

It does say under 'Quarantined threats' that "Quarantined threats have been isolated and prevented from running on your device. They will be periodically removed". It could just be that by now they have been automatically removed. It's a possibility as your detections were a few days ago on the 5th. My test was less than 24 hours ago so the quarantined file has not (yet) been automatically removed.

Just reassurance that it's working as designed.
