    I have the dreaded blue screen of death when trying to boot up, What do I do ?


    I have been having trouble with starting and booting up my pc. Runs very slow on start up and goes straight to a blue screen with error code 0xc0000185. Says a required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed. I have tried to look for the windows 10 serial number with this account, But says no devices are connected when I know I did link my pc to this. I have no way to find out the windows 10 serial number as I can not get into the pc and it was pre installed when I bought it.I also can’t contact the company I bought it from as I had a very bad experience with them four years ago. I have

    Hi Kevin,

    I am sorry to know that you are getting Blue screen errors.

    Along with the suggestion provided by ZigZag, try the steps below.

    If you see the blue screen only after sign-in
    and you can see a mouse cursor:

    • While at the black screen, try using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to start Task Manager.
    • If it becomes visible, try finding LockAppHost.exe on the Details tab and ending the task.
    • If this resolves the blue screen, use corruption resolution steps (dism, then sfc), and run the all apps PowerShell command.

    • Then find the driver that you are trying to uninstall and right-click on it to
      Uninstall.
