I have to boot up and then restart in order to get internet connection

The first time I boot up everything goes well, except the internet icon has a red x on it and a message that says "no internet connectivity and none available". I then restart the computer and it boots up the same as the first time, except I now have an internet connection. It has been doing this off and on for a while, sometimes possibly to an update and sometimes to whatever and I have lived with it. However, if someone has a solution to this problem I would certainly appreciate knowing it. If a registry change is required-I am comfortable doing that.

    :)

I did run the ipconfig command as you suggested on both the non internet connection and the restart internet connection. I also saved them as attachments, but not sure how large an image is allowed on this forum.

The non internet connection does show in the Device Manager and it is an Ethernet connection, but it has a triangle on the Network indicating some sort of problem.

Hope this provides some of the info that you need. If I need to send the ipconfig shots I am not sure how to do that or what the maximum size should be.

Thanks so much for your reply and hopefully it can be solved, but if not I reckon I can live with it.*Smile

I have to boot up and then restart in order to get internet connection

I posted the wrong ipconfigs that you asked for originally, the ipconfig/all and the ipconfig/renew, so I will now post the correct ones. It seems like as though I have two MBRs for some reason or the other. I am almost tempted to remove the non-connected one, AFTER I have made a full backup, but that might not be wise to do. I reckon I don't know what to do. I hope that you do.*sarc

I cannot find any option in the Device Manager to refresh the Network Adapter. Also, the scanty information that I have on the network adapter, indicates that it is built into the motherboard.

Again, I thank you for your help.
