Anyone who has played Forza Horizons 4 on Windows 10 probably knows where I'm going with this. I have tried last trick on the internet to get this stupid piece of Windows 7 legacy hardware to exist on my computer. Yes, I have tried reactivating it through admin command prompt. I have tried adding it through Add Legacy Hardware, I have tried the low level suggestions that involve getting that adapter to get into that menu, and I've even messed with registry values. After all this, I tried a lot of the earlier steps again after reinstalling Windows for completely unrelated reasons basically Bluetooth is dumb and it still didn't work this reinstallation also deactivated my copy of Windows for some reason. I then spent $550 on an SSD I could have gone cheaper obviously but I wanted a specific one, used now as the sole drive in my computer, and installed a fresh copy of Windows on it. Still not there, even after trying a lot of the above steps again. A few days ago, I finally caved and bought a used Xbox One with a controller for $150, signed into my Xbox Live account, and downloaded the game. Tried to do something online, then it hit me. I need Xbox Live Gold to play multiplayer on an Xbox. I am not under any circumstances paying for Xbox Live Gold to play online multiplayer on a game I own on an up-to-spec Windows 10 gaming PC, at least not as a student. I would like one of the following:

For Microsoft to fix this issue.

For someone here to give me a fix that actually works. Not one of the regular ones. They don't work for me. I have spent 7 cumulative hours and half a grand trying to fix this.

Compensation from Microsoft in the form of Xbox Live Gold. I'm not paying a monthly subscription to fix a simple problem, that they caused, that shouldn't exist in the first place.

    :)

  2. Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter not Found

    Hi,

It started off from teredo unable to qualify for Xbox connection.

Then, I tried following tons of suggestions through showing hidden drivers in Device manager, changing DisabledComponents value to 0.

However, I still cannot find Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter.

I tried to install it by adding legacy hardware with all ways, but there was no Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter in the list of the Microsoft Network Adapter .

  3. teredo error: failed to open tunnel adapter.

I'm having this same issue, and xbox is telling me that Teredo is unable to qualify.

I began to follow the steps in the first reply, but stopped at procedure 2. Following the procedure to manually install the Microsoft Teredo Adapter, after clicking on "Microsoft" on the left, I found that the adapter was not even in the list of installable
    network adapters by Microsoft.

Windows 10 Professional is completely up-to-date with the latest release build, and all other Teredo options appear to be set correctly.

There are no Teredo adapters installed on my computer (double checked by showing hidden devices)

As a note, as far as I know, my ISP only provides us with an IPv4 address, but IPv6 is enabled across my home network.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I appreciate you for providing details about the issue and your efforts towards resolving it. We will assist you to resolve this issue.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the network adapter driver and the Teredo drivers.

    • Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    • In the list of devices, you should see the Network drivers.
    • Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    • In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    • In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes”
option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
    • Do the same for Teredo drivers.
