re profile upgrading from win7 to win 10

hi before upgrading from my win 7 machine to win 10 I really want to know if my current win 7 profile will be upgraded/migrated to the new win 10 OS and if it will be indexed so that I can find files quickly from the jump list like I currently do?

or will I have to backup my complete old win 7 profile and manually copy the old items back into the newly created Win 10 profile?

will I also have to reinstall all of my current applications again?

please advise

I think in one of the other PC with win 7 or win 8.1 I run media creators tools and in some step prompt/found graphics card not supported... for win 10. I didn't found alone reading specs of win 10, but the tool says me... after changed graphics card the tool said all OK and continued OK with upgrade... That I ask to reach this step in this current PC - win 7 - must be all OK for the upgrade? Or must continue to upgrade to show this?

Upgrading Win 7 Pro to Win 10

I did the repair installation as you suggested.

Started the computer and then when the desktop screen was up I put the Win7 Pro DVD in. I had already disconnected all the external devices except for the mouse and keyboard.

Once the Win 7 DVD started, it asked me if I wanted to get all of the latest updates. I did. The programming also asked me to do a compatibility check; I did.

I then selected the "upgrade" option. When the download of updates was completed, I rebooted the computer and a panel came up saying that the updates were being applied. I'm assuming that these updates were ones that were flagged as missing from my Windows
7 history. I'm pretty conscientious at applying all of the Microsoft updates. Anyway, I also assume that this is the "repair phase" that you mentioned....fixing any faulty items in my Win 7 program.

After that was all done, I again downloaded Win10. The installation failed once again. No other error warnings or splash panels; just the final panel that said Win10 installation failure.

WOW! This is amazing. I think the we're running out of options to get this computer to upgrade to Win 10. I did build this computer myself so I did use the builders copy of Win7 Pro which shouldn't make any difference when upgrading to Win 10. I did call
MicroCenter, where I bought all of the computer components, and asked them if the copy of Win 7 I used to build this computer was eligible to upgrade to Win 10 and they did say yes so I don't see any associated problems there.

I'll watch for you next suggestion.
