Windows 10: I Have Windows 10 and iam running directx 11 instead 12

I have Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti and iam running directx 11 instead 12.



My GPU Supports Directx 12.



Ive download the newest driver from nvidia.
I've download directx from microsoft.
I've updated my system and i dont have updates.
And still running 11.
How can i make it run 12?

DirectX 12 downgrade to directx11 due to Graphic card request.

You cannot downgrade DirectX 12 to DirectX 11.

DirectX 12 is backward compatible with previous versions of DirectX

Lots of users have installed DirectX 11 for gaming purposes and this has caused system crashes, BSOD's . . . etc.

The best solution is run the apps that require DirectX 11 in compatibility Mode and choose Windows 8 compatibility

 

I have DirectX 12, but application requires DirectX 11

I'm in the same boat, here's what the situation (at least for me) is.

So I have this computer that originally had windows 7. I think it had directx 9 / 10 on it when I got it.

Windows 10 released, and I pumped right up and got Windows 10. Now Along with windows 10 at some time it also got directx 12

Right now I want to get Assassin's Creed, which requires Directx 11. When I check my DirectX version it says "DirectX 12".

But it wont let me play because it thinks that I have the outdated DirectX version.

I can't even download and install the DirectX 11 manually, as it says that there are no downloadable drivers for DirectX 11.

So why can't DirectX 12 handle DirectX 11 games?

 

According to this nVidia GeForce page that video card/adapter was designed for DirectX 11:
GeForce GTX 560 Ti and GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Either the card won't support DirectX 12 or nVidia hasn't made newer supporting drivers for it.

If it says Fermi, chances it does not yet support it. Make (brand, not chipset) of the card. Like this you can see mentioned Fermi.

Hi in order to see what level of direct x your card supports, please click on the display tab. Like so. It will list all supported dx versions.

 

Sure that is not just the driver, says drivers other side device ?

 

Yes, that is driver information on right, see in my pics here, meaning driver supports those DirectX's listed.

 

I checked the audio and he is using directx 12
Checked the display and i have 9.0-11.0 directx

Not sure fully understood your statement completely who is he and having Audio DirectX 12.
Seems as though if you have this NVIDIA Fermi.
