Windows 10: I have windows 11. I cant open folders via file exlorer but i can do it by just clicking on...

I also used opendrive to back up files. maybe it somehow messed with files.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I actually want that feature, as I like to have windows side by side for comparison and for easy move or copy. But I have to hit 'ctrl'+folder in nav pane to open due to having QTTabbar installed. Otherwise, will do what you want and open in same window on R. Not sure why you open in new window with just a click in nav pane on L. Did you check 'Folder Options' ?

Ultimately, what matters, I believe, is what's in the registry for that action. I altered the registry to suit both conditions and it made no difference, clicking on drive/folder opens on new window, cluttering the desktop with all sorts of windows.





I really need some expert on this issue. (Not to demean the help I've gotten thus far)
