I have a one-year-old laptop with windows 11 and i haven't been able to print from my wireless printer since I got this laptop. It says it is my default printer but indicates that it is offline. My question is how do i get it online.

Can't set HP printer as default in Windows 10

I upgraded to Windows 10 and have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 printer.

I uninstalled the old printer driver and re-installed the Windows 10 version from HP.

When I look at the printers in the control panel the printer is listed under devices as a "Scanner, storage device."

It is not listed with the printers. Therefore, I can not set it as the default printer.

I can select it when I want to print something but it is not the default. "Microsoft Print to PDF" is the default device and it is listed under printers.

How do I get Windows 10 to recognize the HP as a printer to be able to set it as the default?

Different answers each time I called HP Yes/No Can be connected/No it can't. Last call suggested kill printer add back. It's not on the HP list and can't pick up blue blinking wireless signal . Older HP Inkjet 6350 year old HP laptop both wireless wizard
