Windows 10: I heard MS can recover a bit key if they are given the serial number of the PC. Is that true?

I have a Dell PC that somehow has a problem that can't be solved by known methods. I wanted to get the data off of my hard drive. Much to my surprise, a key is needed which I supposedly have. Well, I don't. I never heard of it. Isn't there some way that MS can get the key based on my name and or serial number of the pc? I already looked for emails I supposedly got, but I have nothing. It seems as though there should be a way for me to get the recovery key.

I'm confused?? Is the computer listed in the Microsoft Account/Devices page or not? If not, you have to register it and it may take a couple of days to register in the Microsoft Store.

Hi Megahertz. Thanks for reply. No it's an i7 something which I put together for flight sims. I cannot download FS2020 cos Bill wants my System Serial Number. Hello spunk! Thank you also for your reply. No my PC is not listed. I need to get its System Serial Number.
