Windows 10: I-INC Generic PnP monitor "flickering"

I've had this old I-INC monitor for a while now, however the D/C-IN cable was missing. Earlier though, I found a random one on the counter of my kitchen. Surprisingly, it fit in! The other end of the D/C cable was a USB however, so I plugged it into my laptop. Then I plugged the VGA into my laptop. When I turned on the monitor, it kept "flickering". What I mean by flickering is that it would be black for 1-3 seconds, show the screen for a split second, then go back to black, and repeat. The time the screen shows is so short I can barely read 1 word or even acknowledge anything on the screen ha

'Generic PnP monitor' issue

I would suggest you follow steps to update the monitor driver:

Press Windows + X keys

Choose Device manager

Click on Monitors

Right click on ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and click on update driver

Tap on Browse my computer for driver software

Tap on Let me pick from a list of available drivers

Choose ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and tap on Next

When you are done please restart the computer.

 

PnP Generic Monitor Problem

Try to uninstall the generic PnP monitor driver.

1. Right-click on the Start menu button and select Device Manager.

2. Right click on Generic PnP Monitor device. Select Uninstall device option.

3. When asked for confirmation, select Uninstall.

4. After uninstalling, click on Scan for hardware changes button.

Windows will recognize and install the monitor not the generic PnP monitor.
