I installed a new HP 950XL black ink cartridge in my HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer and now it will not print. The printer screen says there is a problem with the printer or the ink system. I have turned the printer and computer off. I have also unplugged both from their power sources. No change.

Aftermarket ink for inkjet cartridges

HP build several different ranges of printers, DesignJet, OfficeJet, Etc, the ink cartridges can often be used in multiple printers across the ranges, [unfortunately HP are not logical enough to have a Designjet and OfficeJet that use the same cartridges to have a similar code number] you may be able to find out if the cartridges in your printer are compatible with any of the available packages on the list. Check the cartridge number in your printer and check if HP catalogue, or reseller shows a printer that they also fit that is on the list

 

Windows 10 HP Officejet Pro 8620 Will not print


Thank you for posting this. I tried all the listed steps and still not able to print EXCEPT when I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor; at the conclusion of the scan, the app prompts me to print a test page from within the Scan Doctor and it is successful. I recall the 8620 being able to do this as well, however.

 

Printer not printing black ink

I have a HP Officejet 4620 printer. I have installed new ink cartridges and the printer indicates the levels are full.

Using the tools, all colors print but black. what can I do?
