Windows 10: I just bought HP Z240 and when i try to install Windows 10 or 11 i am having a problem.

I recently bought Hp Z240 and when i try to install windows in it I get this Work or School Account Guy Butler limited problem. If I turn off wifi on pc and then install windows it install successfully but I am unable to login to my Microsoft account. Can you help me this.

Not The Case With HP Z240 W7/10 Workstations

For the new replies, my thanks. Unfortunately, my initial fumbles with HP's Z240 Workstation configuration required a reinstallation of W10 over the W10 I initially "installed over" the W7 system I originally ordered (long story). I used HP's thumb drive to install W10 both the first and second times, as there is no partition provided for it. This brings me to where I am today.

I have some more work to do "packaging my W10 files for backup", but after that I'll ping HP Z240 again to determine what I should do with the "extra" partition I'm still showing.

Any additional advice would be very appreciated.

 

HP Stream 11 Issues

I bought the HP Stream 11 via eBay for $60 and it'll only able to install Linux OS's and Not Windows 10! The keyboard/Touch-pad don't work but in Linux it does? (Odd...) any thoughts

 

Installed Windows 11 on Oracles VirtualBox

I installed Windows 11 on the free Oracles VirtualBox even though my cpu is not supported and I do not have a TPM module installed. "This PC" and the "Start Menu and File Explorer are different. The right click on the desktop is annoying as you have to click on "Show More Options" to see what you see on all the past version of Windows like Copy, Paste etc. The free Winaero Tweaker can fix a few of these annoyances. I installed a copy of Windows 10 that I had a license for then upgraded to Windows 11. You will have 2 licenses tied to that pc. One for 10 and one for 11 I suggest buying a copy or two of Windows 10 for future. Buy at Ebay. You can always transfer a license over to a new pc. The changes are certainly not worth the cost a of brand new computer!! I recently bought two used HP z240 SFF (small form factor) computers with Windows 10 at Amazon. The first one cost just a total of $17.24 due to credits from my Amazon card and shipped to a relative of mine : ) The second was a total of $130 delivered to me. Mine shows it was built in 2018 and it has TPM but it is disabled in the BIOS. I am leaving it disabled as I do not want Windows 10 to upgrade to 11 as I do not want to fight a new OS. Windows 10 was bad enough to get it setup the way I want. The pc is fast. No issues. A review of the HP z240 from 2016 said it was a suggested $3,200 pc!! Other later date reviews said $1,200 Why spend big bucks when you do not need to? My 2015 desktop pc: Gigabyte Technology Co.
