Windows 10: I just built a new pc and I can't connect to wifi

I built a new pc using a B650 Eagle AX motherboard. I got to the part where you need to connect to a network, and I downloaded the LAN files from the Gigabyte website. The drivers show up on my computer on the USBs, but when I plug it into the pc, they don't show up when I search for drivers. I don't know what to do.This is my first time building a pc.

Have you setup networking yet?

Your local network is created by your router. It's not created by Windows. Your router's owner guide has detailed, step-by-step directions for setting up your network, whether wired or wireless. It's actually pretty easy. (Proof: I was able to do it. )

 

Pc won’t connect to wifi

Thank you for your help. I followed the steps you sent me, and my PC successfully connected to the WiFi without having to restart my router. However, it took longer than usual, which makes me think there might still be a problem. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in my original comment, but my PC doesn't have a built-in WiFi. Instead, I use an adapter to connect to the WiFi, and I suspect there might be something wrong with it.

If you have any other tips or suggestions, I would be more than happy if you could share them with me. Thanks!

Is it possible to set up a new manual wifi connection from the command line?

I'm trying to work out a solution to set up ad-hock wifi connections in Windows 8.1 based on the suggestions in a post on Micsrosoft's answers site. Is there any way to do the first few steps:

• go to "Network and Sharing Center"
  
• click "Set up a new connection or network"
  
• double click "Manually connect to a wireless network"
  
• enter the SSID of the ad-hoc network (as shown by "netsh wlan show networks") into the "Network name" field
  
• configure security settings accordingly
  
• uncheck "Start this connection automatically" (important)
  

...without using the windows dialogs?
