Windows 10: I just got Minecraft a day ago and every time I try to launch Minecraft installer it...

So every time I open the file for Minecraft installer it just says opening and does nothing same thing when I run it with administrator I’ve tried fixing it but it didn’t work

Minecraft: Education Edition will launch November 1

As the 2016 school year gets underway, we are excited to announce the full version of Minecraft: Education Edition will be available to purchase in the Windows Store on November 1.

Since June 9, more than 35,000 students and educators around the world have utilized the early access program and provided feedback to help us fine-tune the experience across a diverse set of learning environments.

Minecraft: Education Edition is built based on feedback from the educator community and the features and capabilities they have told us are important to enhancing the learning experience. While we debuted several of these features with early access in June, we’re excited to roll out even more key capabilities on November 1, including:

Classroom Mode: A companion app for Minecraft: Education Edition that enables educators to manage world settings, communicate with students, give items and teleport students in the Minecraft world. It displays a map view of the Minecraft world, a list of all the students in the world, a set of world management settings and a chat window. There is even a Minecraft clock to show time of day in the world. Classroom Mode offers educators the ability to interact with students and manage settings from a central user interface.

New Minecraft game features: We will continue to update Minecraft: Education Edition to include new game features from other editions of Minecraft. All the latest updates to Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition beta will be included, such as leads and horses, additional player skins, pistons and the remainder of Redstone functionality and an updated user interface.

The complete version of Minecraft: Education Edition will be available for purchase on November 1 for $5 per user, per year, or through a district-wide licensing model.

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server

Minecraft is Launching on Chromebooks in Early Access

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that we believe mining and crafting is even more fun when we can all do it together. That’s why we’re excited to announce that today, an early access version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is releasing on Chromebook*, featuring cross-device play with friends, access to Minecraft Marketplace, and the ability to play on Realms! While it won’t be available for everyone to buy yet (the full release will come later) it marks an exciting step towards making Minecraft more accessible to even more people.

WHAT DOES “EARLY ACCESS” MEAN? Early access means that in this first stage, only selected Chromebook devices that meet the minimum requirements* will get the option to buy Minecraft, so you’ll have to check the Google Play Store to see if Minecraft is available for you. This isn’t because we want to single out some of our players as special (we love you all equally!) – it’s so we can test the game’s performance before we make it available to more players. WILL THERE BE BUGS IN THE EARLY ACCESS VERSION? Between now and the official launch date, we’ll be working hard to make sure that Minecraft runs smoothly on Chromebook. We’ll check that every creeper hisses, every glow-berry glows, and that every snow-topped mountain can spawn a screaming goat. We still expect that there may be some bugs, and that’s where we’ll need your help. If you come across any goat-eating frogs, milkable squids, or disco dancing Ender dragons, then please let us know! You can submit bug reports to us through the website, or send us a message on Discord.
