Windows 10: I just installed a HEVC codec I bought from Microsoft.

When I returned to DaVinci Resolve 17 I got Red icons for my files with MEDIA OFFLINE.
I recorded them in H.265 HEVC and managed to make my video and render it. But I could not render it as H.265 why I installed that codec.

I've tried to relink the media files whithout result.


How can I get rid of the codec?

Installation of HEVC codec

Any attempt to install HEVC codec, purchased from MIcrosoft Store, is a failure. What can be the reason?

You might be experiencing this issue because of corrupted codec files. To help us identify the cause of this error, we would like to know the following information:

• Which app are you using to open and play your media files?
• Have you installed any codec packs on your computer?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you download and install the
official Codec packs from Microsoft. These packs can correct problems experienced with previously-downloaded codecs.

Windows 10 getting HEVC H.265 Codec to use Hardware Acceleration

GoPro Quik uses the codec from the store app "HEVC Video Extensions", which does not support Hardware Acceleration for desktop programs like Windows Media Player and GoPro Quik when the Computer has a dedicated graphic card. There is no solution to this problem untill either Microsoft fixed their "HEVC Video Extensions" or GoPro fixes this by using other or built in codec for HEVC.
