Using HD from old PC as data drive in new PC

I'm buying a Dell Inspiron 3671 with Windows 10 Home to replace an old Dell Inspiron 580s that's running Windows 7 Professional. I'd like to install the 1 TB hard drive from the old Inspiron 580s in the new Inspiron 3671 as a second drive to use as a data
drive only. What steps do I need to follow to accomplish this? (If there's a step-by-step guide out there somewhere, I could really use it.)

 

port 2.0 is not working in dell inspiron 5570

Port 2.0 and type c port is not working in my laptop dell inspiron 5570 ,and its with windows10 8th generation i7 processor .can any one suggest me solution to repair my 2.0 port

Swapping hard drives.

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 5570 with Windows 10 and a 1 lTB HDD.

I also purchased A solid state drive seperately to replace the HDD.

as it is a new drive i cannot boot from it.

i have been unsuccessful in using my recovery drive on it or figuring out how to migrate the data.

All Il ultimately trying to do is replace the hard drive but am failing to move the OS onto it or reinstall it.
