    How to restore a text document to its previous form?

    Have you tried saving a new document not following the same steps you did prior to this concern? If so, did you experience the same issue?

    In the meantime, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the text document.
    • Choose Restore previous versions.
    • Go to Previous Versions tab.
    • Look for the previous version of the document.
    • Choose Open or Restore.
    • Click on Apply.

    The steps will allow you to browse all previous versions of the document.

    Lost documents

    Can't find document anywhere. In middle of working on a 7 page document a Microsoft notice popped up on OneNote asking for my password. I gave it and tried to go back to my document. Only 4 paragraphs of the 7 pages were there. I had been saving
    after every page and now can't find anything more than the 4 paragraphs.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to give permission for entire system, so that you can save the files in photos and documents.

    • Right click on the folder and click on properties.
    • Click on security tab and select the group\user name.
    • Click on edit option and check the option full control.
    • Click on apply and then on ok button.
    Now you can try saving the file in photos and documents and check if the issue persists.
