Windows 10: I just updated to Win11 and now HDR is not working.

I am trying to get HDR working on Win11. It worked just fine when I was using Win10 last week, but now it says not supported. I ran dxdiag and everything in there says I should be able to use HDR, but I can't.

Thank you for letting me know about the concern, I hope you are doing well today.

I truly understand you really like enable HDR of your computer. The possible cause why it’s not working maybe your PC and display doesn’t meet certain hardware requirements.

I suggest to update your windows first, please follow the steps below:

• Start > and then go to Setting > Update & Security > Windows Update
  
  
  

I would recommend the link below and kindly follow the troubleshooting steps in it.

I would like to ask a video as well showing the error or the issue.

HDR streaming not turning on.

We understand the concern that the HDR streaming is crashing in your laptop. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• What is the make and model of the PC?

However, we would like you to update the display/graphics driver to the latest version and also suggest you to refer this article and let us know the status of the issue:

Unable to switch HDR colour on .

I think that is a wise decision, windows had never been the quickest to take on new variations in technology - what I suggest is to set a reminder for six months from now to check the progress of HDR support.

Of course with Windows 11 now "spooling up" it may be an idea to check it's support for HDR, as it's a free update and may have better support, but there is a downside as the systems have changed quite a bit between Win10 & Win11 as have the hardware requirements
