Windows 10: I keep getting an error status 0x000012F

C:\WINDOWS/SYSTEM32\WUPS.DLL IS EITHER NOT DESIGNED TO RUN ON WINDOWS OR IT CONTAINS AN ERROR. TRY INSTALLING THE PROGRAM AGAIN USING THE ORIGINAL INSTALLATION MEDIA OR CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR OR THE SOFTWARE VENDOR FOR SUPPORT. ERROR STATUS 0x000012FI've spent a few hours trying various fixes that I've found online and I'm at a loss.Can microsoft take control of my computer to fix this?

Error 0x000012f

No, the problem with Error 0x000012f is not resolved.

In my reply 2017-10-28 15:15 and 2017-10-29 it appears that the problem persists with Error 0x000012f.

Have then been waiting for new community suggestions.

I have followed the advice of MS Community and now using MS WIN 10 Pro, Vers. 1709, OS Build 16299.19.

Now again, Outlook 2016 works.

And today (Monday, November 6), Outlook was also updated to version 1710 (Build 8625.2121).

However, Error 0x000012f remains. Has been alarmed;

> PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe - Bad Image, MSVCR110.dll error: 0x000012f

> reader_sl.exe - Bad Image, MSVCP120.dll error: 0x000012f

Note: If you click on a .jpg file, start an application to edit the file / image. You get a error 0x000012f. BUT if you start for example Adobe Photoshop Elements and from within the application open the file you want to edit - THAT goes well!

After installing Win 10 version 1709, I also suffered an alarm at boot-up "... incorrect user and / or password ...". Comes in a blue box AND you will not be given a tip about which program/application is giving the error!

However, if you go on, you will receive regular login of users.

The upgrade to Windoes 10, version 1709 has not been enough fun experience ....

So the question remains, how do you fix the errors "0x000012f" after the upgrade to version 1709 ............

Problem description (running Win 10):

After installation (2017-10-24) of MS update:

> Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709

> Quality Updates, for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1709 x64 based Systems (KB4049179).

The updates went well - no errors,

have I Received Error: "0x000015f".

Error: 0x000012f Skype C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32] MSVCR120

Error: 0x000012f Skype.exe C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32] MSVCP140.dll

Error: 0x000012f reader_sl.exe C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32] MSVCP120.dll

Error: 0x000012f Outlook.exe C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32] MSVCP140.dll

Error: 0x000012f Excel.exe C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32] MSVCP140.dll

… is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again

using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
Error status 0x000012f

Skype (Clasic) reinstalled with the same error remaining.

Has also performed:

DISM.exe / ...... / Scanhealth (no errors detected) and

DISM.exe / ...... / Restorehealth (No problem - everything went well).

sfc / scannow (No errors detected)

So what do I do now ............
