For a few months I've been getting occasional BSODs with this same error. I feel like it's gotten more frequent lately though. I should have probably gotten help with this a long time ago. The circumstances vary. The latest one I wasn't even using my computer at all and it suddenly crashed. It was pretty much idle with only the desktop running. I've had it crash when I'm watching YouTube, or doing other random browsing. It's crashed when I've been playing games as well. I don't know the first thing about this, other than I did a memory test and it didn't show anything wrong with that.

    :)

  3. Getting Critical_structure_corruption (tcpip/sys) BSOD on Windows 10 computer

    Old title: critical_structure_corruption (tcpip/sys)

    Hi,

I keeping getting a random BSOD with "critical_structure_corruption (tcpip/sys)" as the reason. I then have to wait approximately 10 seconds during which time Microsoft are collecting information about the error. This seemed to be introduced after the last
Windows update Tuesday. I couldn't find the cause so did a system restore and all was fine again until the following morning when Microsoft automatically installed the updates again. A rollback doesn't fix the problem now.

When are Microsoft going to fix it for me?

I have got an old-ish motherboard who's latest BIOS update was 2010 so I can't help but think this may be the reason. I've tried everything else.

    Any ideas?

    I Keep Getting CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION

    Hello Veritastar *Smile

I have had a look at the one crash dump that I can open and my first impression is that there may be a problem with your RAM. I see you have tested your RAM but you do not say how. The method we advise is given below:

    Diagnostic Test

    RAM TEST

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

  5. I used the built in windows 10 memory diagnostic. I will try your suggestion though. I will reply later and tell you if I get any errors.

Looks like i was wrong. What do I do now?
Oh, and I’m still confused about the difference between just replacing RAM or needing to replace the motherboard. The thread confused me on that part.

This result confirms a problem with your RAM; you need to find out which stick of RAM is faulty by testing them in turn. You can then continue with just the one good stick of RAM or replace them. I would generally replace as a set since in most cases it is important that memory is installed as a matched pair. There is a slight possibility the slot of the motherboard could be faulty and this is what may have confused you. To rule this out you need to test the good RAM in all the slots to confirm that the slots are all OK.
