Windows 10: I keep getting error code 0x8024001E telling me that I cant update windows.

I tried many things like stopping the services and using CMD administrator and writing the following codes:net stop wuauserv net stop cryptsvc net stop bits net stop msiserver ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old net start wuauserv net start cryptsvc net start bits net start msiserver but whenever I use net start wuauserv I keep getting error 1058 telling me that the service is shutting down due to no applications using it even though I tried to use the windows update simultaneously.I found people saying that I needed t

This might be caused due to following reasons:

• Update broken.
• Virus or malware infection.

Please follow the steps below and check if it helps:

• Restart the computer.
• Open command prompt with administrator privilege
• Windows Key + X and turn on the command line (Admin)
• Type in the command line:
  
  net stop wuauserv
  
  rename c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
  
  net start wuauserv
• Now restart the computer and try to install updates and check if it helps.

Yeah, check Windows Updates again.

Exactly what version of Windows 10 are you using?
In the taskbar search box type: winver and then hit ENTER

For example I am on version 19042.844

I've been getting this error. I did retry with no luck.




I looked in history and it would seem this is the failed item under other updates with error 0x8024001e

All OK now . I ran sfc/ scannow and the error went. I ran update and it installed fine.
