Windows 10: i keep getting sent a 6 digit code instead of a 7 digit code

i keep getting sent a 6 digit code instead of a 7 digit code, this only happens on apps not the browser version, my password doesn't work either

Why send a 6 digit code but demand a 7 digit code?

Same thing happening here. I have requested the codes be sent to email and text and I only get 6 digit codes that do not work bc a 7 digit code is required.

I'm trying to reset the password on my laptop cause for some reason my pin is invalid and I keep getting 5 digit verification codes but then I keep getting told I need 7 digit codes.

WHAT IS THE POINT OF SENDING THE 6 DIGIT CODE

 

I keep getting sent a 6 digit verification code instead of a 7 digit code while trying to sign in.

Since changing components in my computer I have had to sign in to my microsoft account in order to reset my pin code. I know my password and username and microsoft sends a verification code that is only six digits long instead of the required 7 digit code. How do I get a seven digit code since I can no longer use my desktop until this issue is resolved.
