    Is there a way to set Windows 10 Pro login to fingerprint by default instead of having to choose between fingerprint, PIN or password each time I log in?

    Please answer the question that is asked. There are several people on this thread that have asked how to SET FINGERPRINT SCAN AS THE ***DEFAULT*** METHOD OF SIGN IN, but the pre-written stock answers you're offering sidestep the question. It seems like
    Hello doesn't give the option to set a DEFAULT and have that method used first every time. I KNOW YOU CAN CHOOSE IT EACH TIME, that's not what we want to do. We want it to be looking for a fingerprint scan, thus enabling a one-step login rather than the two-step
    process you keep suggesting. If it's not possible, please say so and we'll drop the subject. Thanks.

    windows hello fingerprint freezing/crashing during set up

    I have a Lenovo X1 laptop and when I try to set up the fingerprint verification in Windows hello, it freezes

    • It asks for my PIN input - that goes fine
    • Then it says 'great' after the first time i touch the fingerprint sensor
    • After the first test-touch it just freezes and does not react.
    Can you advise? Thanks

    I keep getting this every time I try to set up fingerprint after 2004 update

    After Windows 10 update, fingerprints cannot be verified.

    I'm using a Dell Vostro 3560. I have been using Windows 10's fingerprint scanner for months now without any issues until yesterday's Windows Update. Now, when I login with a fingerprint it shows "Your credentials could not be verified" and I have to type
    my password.

    • I have removed my old fingerprints and set up the whole thing all over again.
    • I have restarted the laptop.
    • I have reset my account password.
    • My laptop is online and I have successfully login to the same account using the new password via my browser so I know my account's security info have synchronized.
    However, when I set up my fingerprints again (third time), I get a message "That fingerprint is already set up on this account. Try a different finger." so I know there is nothing wrong with the scanner or the drivers. Yet, when I lock my laptop and want
    to unlock it with that same finger ("...that is already set up") I get a "Your credentials could not be verified" message.

    This only happened after the last Windows Update.

    • How can I fix the fingerprint login?
