  2. No sound and unable to control volume on Windows 10.

    Hi Minas,

The above issue might occur due to the following reasons:

    • Corrupted/missing system files & folders.

    • Sound drivers non-updated or incompatible.

    • Sound settings disabled on the PC.

Before we assist further, I would like to ask you a few questions:

    • Did you check if sound settings are disabled on the PC?

    • Did you try updating the sound drivers?

Due to some of the third party applications installed sound settings will be disabled on the PC. Check if the settings are set appropriately by following the steps below:

    • Right click on the volume icon, located at the bottom right corner of the PC and select
Playback devices from the context menu.

    • Click on the device located in the window and click on
      Properties.

    • Click on Levels tab from the window and check if the volume icon is disabled.

    • If yes, click on the icon to enable the settings and check if the changes are effective.

If the issue persists, update the audio drivers by following the steps from the link below and check if the issue is resolved.

    • Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
Device manager from the context menu.

    • Expand Sound, video and game controller option and check if the speaker drivers are installed.

    • If yes, right click on the driver and select
      Update this software
      from the context menu.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions and wait till the drivers are updated.

    • After the update is complete, close the window and check if the changes are effective.

    • If the issue persists, download and install the latest and most compatible sound drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if the changes are effective.

Refer to the link below on Fix sound problems and check if it helps.

How to disable automatic volume leveling

How do I disable automatic volume leveling/AGC/normalization in Windows 10?

It's a Lenovo Thinkpad T540p laptop and this has bothered me since windows 8.1 that it shipped with. I asked Lenovo but there's no answer and I also found people with HP laptops and other (unspecified) systems with the same problem, but their solutions don't
    apply to me.

    • It's not automatic volume reduction for communication applications. I say this because epxeriene tells that Microsoft likes to come with standard responses based on not reading the question accurately enough

The problem is that soft sounds get amplified over time (smoothly) and when there is a loud sound for a short while, the soft sounds that follow will start soft gradually go up in volume again. (e.g. music with high dynamic range, or shooting a machine gun
in a video game and then listening to background sounds)

    • In Control Panel/Sounds, "Enhancements" in the properties of all playback device is already disabled.
    • I don't have any audio card software called "SRS Premium Sound" or whatever, that most people 'solved' this issue by.

  4. I keep getting this sound on my windows 10 I've disabled system volume and application...

No sound while playing audio and video files.

    Hi,

I appreciate if you could answer to a few questions to narrow down to the issue.

    • Which is the application that you are using to play the files?
    • Did you try the same on a different player?
    • Did you perform any troubleshooting steps?
As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the volume is set low or in mute state in Volume Mixer.

    • Right click on sound icon.
    • Open Volume Mixer check for the application that you are playing the files with and increase the volume and check.
If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run “Playing audio” troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

Follow these Steps to run Playing Audio Troubleshooter in Windows 10.

    1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

    2. Select Troubleshooting.

    3. Select View all on the top left corner.

    4. Click on Playing audio.

Hope the information helps in resolving the issue related to the sound issue. Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.
