Windows 10: I keep getting told I need "permission" to do things on a personal computer thats located...

I have absolutely zero use for any of the "permission , sign in , account " nonsense that permeates throughout this miserable piece of software .I have wasted countless hours trying to use my own computer that nobody else has access to unless they break in and steal it ! A watercooled full tower with two radiators that weighs close to 100 pounds does not need all this nonsense . Anybody who can manage to lug this thing down flights of stairs deserve's to own it !At times I have been partially successful at shutting off all the garbage .....only to see everything revert back thanks to some unw

Permission issue

Presumably because TrustedInstaller is the owner (hence you need its permission), suggesting that img3.jpg was installed by Windows at some time.

Presumably that also means it can be uninstalled. How did you get it in the first place? Where is it located?

If you really want to delete it yourself, then taking ownership would seem a logical first step.

 

No permissions

Hi,

I would suggest you to right click on the user's folder for your profile and check if the permissions shows as "read only'. If this is the case, it might be causing the issue. In this case, I would suggest you to go to C:\User folder, right click on the
folder with your username and follow these steps:

• Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
  
• Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
• Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
  

This does a one-time action that replaces the security on all the files/subfolders. It’s one-time, so you won’t find that box checked if you peek at it later. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.

 

Getting access permission

Everytime I run a malware scanner, it returns the same PUPs, so I though I would manually check, but I am denied access to \ProgramData\ApplicationData\ and told to fix that in Security. That in turn lists four entities that might get permission. When
for simplicity, I chose "Everyone' there was an error. The description of the other three leaves me puzzled. Could I get a clear step by step procedure to gain access ? There is only one account (with administrator privileges) and there are no other users.
