Random NTFS errors and files/folders getting deleted

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.



I hope you're doing well today.



I truly understand that you are having an issue of getting random NTFS error and files getting deleted. Let's work on this together for us to fix the issue.

You may consider trying the steps below that could possibly fix the issue.

Fix 1

Open command promt as admin

Type these commands below to fix the error:

• bootrec.exe /fixmbr
  
• bootrec.exe /fixboot
  
• bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
  
• bootrec /scano
  

Fix 2

Run SFC scan

In the search box on the taskbar, type Command Prompt, and right-click or press and hold Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the list of results. Select Run as administrator, and then select Yes.

Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the space before each "/"), and then press Enter. (Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete.)

After you see a message that says "The operation completed successfully," type sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/") and press Enter.

After you see a message that says, "Verification 100% complete," type exit.

After performing all the steps above and the issue persist , I would suggest to try setting new account . You may follow the steps on the same link.

Add or remove accounts on your PC (microsoft.com)

How do I explain what steps I took... I ran dm_log_collector.exe but not sure how results were actually acquired/interpreted.

I need to be able to explain steps I took and steps taken to reproduce.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
