Windows 10: I locked my device via microsoft online account >devices - and cannot unlock due to PIN...

Experienced IT here.I am open to trying to find a solution via USB / regex editing, but I cannot make any headway at all. Ive heard of the CMD prompt in exchange for a support keyboard idea, but not sure how to execute it from a locked out device, unless I take out the SSD and try to edit the files that way. I'm hoping for a MUCH easier solutionAnyway Here is how to redo my problem1. Have any windows 11 computer, and use microsoft online account for login.2. Use "pin" login instead of the typical username password stuff.3. go to microsoft online acount from another computer, and remotely lock

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with your Windows 10 device. To help you safely log in to your administrator account and avoid any potential data loss, I would suggest trying the following steps:

> Restart your device and boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 or Shift + F8 during the startup process. This will start your device with a minimal set of drivers and services, allowing you to access your administrator account.

> Once you have accessed your administrator account in Safe Mode, you can then try to unlock your device from your Microsoft account. To do this, go to the Settings app > Accounts > Your Info > Sign in with a Microsoft account instead. You should then be prompted to enter your Microsoft account credentials and unlock your device.

> If the above steps do not work, you may need to consider using a password reset disk or performing a system restore.

This device has been locked for security reasons.

Just making sure you have done the following:

Unlock your Windows 10 phone remotely

• Try unlocking your Windows 10 device remotely if you get this message: "This device has been locked for security reasons. Connect your device to a power source for at least two hours and then try again." The key is to reset your PIN through
  account.microsoft.com. If you use remote unlock, your logon PIN will be protected by Windows instead of your device's security system.
  1. Go to
     account.microsoft.com.
  2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account you use on the phone.
  3. Click the Find my phone link.
  4. Press Lock.
  5. Enter a new PIN. Now you'll be able to unlock your phone with your new PIN.
• To go back to having your logon PIN protected by your device’s security system, make sure the device has been on for at least 2 hours. Go to
  Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Accounts >
  Sign-in options page and select "I forgot my PIN". Enter your Microsoft account info, verify your identity, and set the PIN for the device.
