Windows 10: I login as usual but then it goes to a black screen with my mouse cursor

My mouse cursor is just sitting there on my screen, it can be moved but it cant do anything

Next I did select volume and list volume X:

Next up is bcdedit | find "osdevice"
And after doing diskpart , list disc

 

Windows 10 boots up, then the screen goes black (but mouse cursor ok)

Quite peculiar indeed. This machine boots, I get the little circle dot progress icons, then at varying times, the desktop will turn completely black and blank, but the mouse cursor still works fine. Sometimes the desktop will load entirely and the screen goes out after a couple minutes, sometimes windows loads right into the black screen with mouse cursor. This is a pretty old machine(has a 1394 port and a modem) and has no independent graphics card.

What logs can I check?
