Windows 10: i lost a notepad file on my windows 11 home and i really need that back urgently

i lost a notepad file on my windows 11 home and i really need that back urgently. i was getting ready to write some important info on the notepad tab when i finished writing i was checking if it auto saves so i pressed the subtraction botton the the top right

Thank you for your speedy reply. I went through the steps as advised and .txt is not listed in file type, it lists .tts and the next one is .txz. Also there is no notepad listed in link type.

 

Lost Notepad Files

I have been stacking up Notepad files and folders: I have gathered a large collection. This morning I had power failure. I had to reboot. Try as I might I have not found a way to recover my Notepad files. Did not find any in my Windows files. What I read in the Internet leaves my head spinning. Has all been lost? Does anyone have a fix?

• How long has it been since you installed Windows 10 on the computer?

Windows 10 does not apply changes or remove personal files without your permission. We suggest you restore the previous version of the folder or drive that used to contain the files you are looking for. Refer to this
