    I lost all my data on external disk when installing Windows 11.


    Hi, when i tried installing Windows 11 failed, I don't have a supported processor. It told me, that i need to insert external disk or DVD, i inserted external disk and started with downloading Windows 11. After it completed, there was only Windows 11 files in that external disk. I lost all my data photos when i was kid, and lots of memories... I need to recover it back, but i dont know how.

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    How to recover data from corrupted WD external hardisk

    Hi...

    I have Western Digital Passport 1 TB external Hard disk. It has got corrupted. When I connect to my Window 7 machine, my external hard disk rotates but my machine does not recognize it.I have checked External hard disk with other working cable as well but still it is not working . I have tried to recover data with Hiren boot cd ,. On hiren boot machine it is recognizing the disk. I can copy some data in form of dd format with data rescue but not able to recover data with this DD format file. I have used different softwares to recover dd file but all are giving error. Please suggest how can i recover my data.

    Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown I lost all my data on external disk when installing Windows 11. :(
    I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
    I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics.     Give these troubleshooting steps a try and keep us posted with the results!
