Windows 10: I lost all my photos and they're not in my recycle bin either, is there a way to recover them?

I was recently trying to free up space on my laptop and I think I may have accidentally permanently deleted my photos. I checked in my recycle bin but there was nothing there, I tried right clicking on my photos tab and seeing if "restore previous versions" would work but nothing comes up either. Are my photos just forever gone or is there anything else I can do to retrieve them? I currently run windows 10 if that helps.

• Click the Start button , type desktop icons into the search box, and then click Show or hide common icons on the desktop.
• In the Desktop Icon Settings dialog box, do one of the following: To hide the Recycle Bin, clear the Recycle Bin check box. ...
  
• Click OK.

To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

• Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
• Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
• Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

Recycle Bin was deleted

Hi Raghav,

If we, by mistake, deleted the Recycle Bin icon on our desktop, we can still recover it.

Here are the steps to recover the Recycle Bin:

• Go to Start.
• Select Settings.
• Choose Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings.
• Check the box beside Recycle Bin, then press Apply.
• Hit the OK button.
