Windows 10: I lost all the data on my usb , The files are really important

Long story short my Little brother was Using my usb , When he finished He didnt Unplug it safely so All the data is lost , I tried to check previous versions of the flash drive but it didnt give me accsess like Properties didnt even have that feature , i tried doing disk drill but it didnt work , The data i lost Is really important , My job depends on it Pls help

• Did you lose it after upgrading to Windows 10?
• How long has it been since you installed Windows 10 on the computer?

Windows 10 does not apply changes or remove personal files without your permission. We suggest you restore the previous version of the folder or drive that used to contain the files you are looking for. Refer to this

Lost data from hard drive, what to do now?

Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown
I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics.
