  1. I lost my laptop and unable find exact location with find my device

Hi, I am Sameer from India, Navi Mumbai. My laptop was stolen on 2nd January Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3 with Windows 11 OS.Find my device is active, however it is not showing precise location. I can see the location is showing only highway road. I am unable to connect to support staff. The laptop was locked when stolen. Next day 2 unauthorized users were added. I can see their email IDs now and need help tracking them.

    :)

Unable to turn on the Location from the Location Settings.

    Hi Rafiul,

    It is possible that the
    GPS chipset
is not working properly causing your location settings to be
disabled or cannot be turned on. Kindly run the
    Hardware and Device Troubleshooter
and check if there's any changes. To run the
    troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    • On the search bar, type
      Troubleshooting
      and hit
      Enter.

    • Choose
      Hardware and Sound.

    • Click on the
      Hardware and Devices
      to run the
      Troubleshooter.

    If the issue
persists, we suggest that you contact your
    computer/laptop's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

MISSING ASUS LAPTOP DEVICE REGISTRATION WITH MICROSOFT ACCOUNT

    Hi, JayKimTF

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Yes, you can use the Microsoft account to register your lost laptop device, even if you did not create a Microsoft account when you bought the laptop in 2020. You can use the S/N (serial number) and model number to register with the new Microsoft account that you created.

Here are the steps on how to register your lost laptop device with a Microsoft account using the S/N and model number:

    • Go to the Microsoft account | Devices website and sign in to your account.
    • Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner and select “View Microsoft account.”
    • Click on the “Devices” tab.
    • Click on the “Register a new device” button.
    • Select “Laptop” as the device type.
    • Enter the S/N and model number of your lost laptop.
    • Click on the “Register” button.

Once you have registered your lost laptop device with your Microsoft account, you can use the “Find my device” feature to try to locate it.
