My PC is dual storage and has a 240GB SSD and a 2TB HDD. Most of the root files of my system were placed by default on this SSD Program Files, Users, Windows, etc. As I've had this PC for nearly 4 years this SSD is nearing capacity, and today I tried moving files off of it to the HDD to save space. I did this by changing the file location of some of the default folders under "This PC." I changed the default location of the "Videos" folder from C:\Users\xxxx to a new folder I created on the HDD called Videos, so the new file location was D:\Videos. The files copied successfully and when I not

Correct Directory Location For Pictures Folder

"Now Documents, Videos etc say file location is This PC. But Pictures file location is C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures."

If we understand you correctly, the issue is that Pictures doesn't appear in the left panel under This PC. The correct location IS C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures. This is only an issue of using Step 8 in the tutorial to add it back to the list. See if this screenshot is what you want to achieve- put Pictures folder back in list on L.

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

The folders may have been redirected to OneDrive. First, you need to disable syncing your special folders with OneDrive. Only then can the folders be redirected.

To revert the shell folder locations to default, open OneDrive and do the following:

Note: Before proceeding, copy the files in those special folders to another folder or external drive. Please don’t copy them anywhere under Desktop/Documents/Pictures. This is because disabling OneDrive backup for a folder erases the local copies of the files. Copying them to a different location beforehand will ensure that you don’t need to download them again from the OneDrive cloud.

1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Notification area and click Settings.
   
2. Select the Backup tab, and click Manage Backup
   
3. In the Manage folder backup dialog, click on the Stop backup link under the special folder (Desktop, Documents, or Pictures)
   
4. Click Stop backup in the confirmation dialog that appears.
   
5. Repeat the step for each shell folder you want to revert to the original location.
