So what I did was 1. Run netplwiz by clicking Windows + R 2. Double Click Administrator account 3. In the latest window there is a tab "Group Membership" and I pressed "Standard User" The problem is that every time I run as administrator it requires "To continue, enter an admin username and password" But there is no sing-in form at all My mission is to change it back to an administrator account and disable the pin password so that I don't have to sign-in again using the pin.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address. I don't have an administrator account and i have two accounts and they are both standard account.

As per your description, I understand that you have two standard accounts in your computer and you want to convert the account to Administrator account.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the standard account to administrator and check if it helps.

• Press ‘Windows+X’ and go to ‘Control panel’.
• Locate ‘User Accounts’ and click on it.
• Click on ‘Change your account type’ and check the option
  ‘Administrator’ then click on ‘Change account type’.
• Now your account will be changed as Administrator account.

Should my Microsoft Account have administrator privileges?

I just finished reinstalling Windows 10 (Creator version) and decided to have the installation process create a Microsoft Account instead of bypassing that step like I have on other laptops in the past and creating a local account later. After the install I went to Accounts in the settings and saw that the Microsoft Account was listed as an Administrator. I always thought the main user should only have standard privs for security purposes. Thoughts? Should I create a new admin account and try and change the MSA to a standard account?
