Windows 10: I managed to get a pretty nasty virus on my PC and need to reset

This virus has locked down pretty much every feature that I need to obtain the license key that's already on my PC. It won't even let me out to the internet. It's also blocked all security features so I can't even run a virus scan. When I try to do a reset PC it says there was a problem resetting your PC. I assume this is the virus doing its job. So I have no record of my license key and I'm just wondering how I can do this without having that handy because the command prompt to retrieve the license key is also not working.Help!

My Computer has a nasty virus

I think the virus is called Win 10 and it keeps reinstalling malware that goes by several names: Bing (there are several forms of this malware), xBox, Your Phone and so on.

Any tips on how to prevent this nasty, nasty virus from updating every few days?

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

 

Nasty virus and no login option after restarting my pc

I have a nasty virus I'm trying to deal with so I switched to safe mode then restarted my laptop. My pc started but the usual login option is gone. There's no way for me to sign in. I tried different keyboard combinations but nothing.
