Windows 10: I messed up my browser's fonts! and now they look weird! (Screenshot included)

Yesterday i installed an old app( around 10 years old), after which i uninstalled it, but i guess it corrupted some of my system fonts, due to which fonts of every web browser i use look weird. I'm pasting links of screenshot of IE, Chrome and firefox. Its getting annoying, nothing works. Tried "restoring default fonts" and even resetting chrome, reinstalled the chrome. but no luck. I installed firefox after this issue started, and even firefox is experiencing this issue.

Hi,

This issue may have been caused by a Windows 10 update that changed your font settings automatically. If you recently updated your operating system, we suggest that you follow these steps to see if the font will go back to normal:

• Type font in the search bar.
• Select Change Font settings.
• Click Restore default font settings.

Thanks for the info but it's not the solution to what I need. It does not include the complete list of fonts originally included in windows 10. In addition to the fact that as it is mentioned in it at the time you restore the system, you will for certain
lose other information that is unnecessary to delete and could be hard to restore. In previous editions there is a downloadable package with all the fonts which allows you to fix fonts problems without messing around with other configurations. If you follow
the steps suggested you need to restore corel, acrobat, illustrator, among other programs since each one of them have some unique fonts.

 

Weird font problem across all browsers


Hi, A few months ago I started using my new laptop with Windows 8.1. Suddenly I noticed that on certain websites the fonts are displaying incorrectly. It would show Times New Roman in parts of the page instead of the normal font. This happens in all browsers so I guess it's not browser related.

- Upgrading from 8.1 to Windows 10 did not fix it.
- Reset fonts to default via Control Panel > Fonts did not fix it.
- I removed OpenOffice but that didn't fix anything either.
- No duplicates in c:\windows\fonts as far as I can see.

Right now I'm a bit puzzled what to try next. I can't find much information about this specific issue.
